Over 67% of Adults Have Received a COVID-19 Vaccine in Virginia

As of May 31st, almost 4.7 million Virginians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 67% of those over 18 in the Commonwealth have been given a COVID-19 vaccine, and almost 59% are now fully vaccinated. Statewide, there are about 38,000 vaccine doses being given every day. Private pharmacies now have administered more COVID-19 vaccines than state-run clinics or any other type of provider in the state.

Prince William County has recorded that 236,000 residents have obtained at least one dose according to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). However, this number excludes the many doses administered through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program – which includes CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Food Lion and other countless other stores. Even while excluding this federal data, over half of Prince William County has now received at least one dose according to state health officials.
