Supervisors Vega Participates in Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

On June 10th, Supervisor Vega ran and participated with the Prince William County Police Department in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run benefitting Special Olympics.

The Torch Run is run by police officers, sheriff’s deputies, correction officers, support staff, police volunteers and other law enforcement professional. Close to 97,000 police professionals participate in this effort to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics. Participants in the Torch Run help spread the word about the benefits of Special Olympics and how the program helps define the brave participants of these programs as athletes, and not define them by their disabilities. Since its inception in 1981, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised over $600 million dollars for Special Olympics.

Special thanks to everyone who came out and participated!
