Amazing Accomplishment in Only 5th Year of Program
On June 26th, the Colgan Sharks baseball team fell just shy of winning their first state championship, losing in a heartbreaker, 2-1, to Madison High School. Colgan finished the season at 14-1, an amazing feat considering the school and subsequent baseball program have only been in existence for five years.
Despite the heartbreaking one-run loss, the best appears yet to come for Coach Mike Colangelo and his boys as they return their entire starting pitching rotation which only allowed nine earned runs, all season.
Colgan will seek to bring home Prince William County’s first state baseball championship since Brentsville accomplished the feat back in 1995.
