Public Pools Re-Opening This Summer

Prince William County’s Parks Department is reopening their public pool facilities this summer.

On Saturday, May 29th, Waterworks Waterpark in Dale City opened. Waterworks will only be open on weekends until mid-June.

Graham Park Pool in Triangle and Birchdale Pool in Dale City will open Saturday, June 5th. These facilities will only be open on weekends until mid-June as well.

SplashDown Waterpark in the Sudley Area and Veterans Park Pool in Woodbridge will open Saturday, June 12th. SplashDown will open for swim team practice only beginning Saturday, June 7th.

Hammill Mill pool is currently undergoing structural repairs, and may not open this season.

All public pool facilities will have reduced hours of operations, being open from from 12:00 PM to 6:00 pm. This is due to limited staffing. Although this will allow more sites to open for the summer, the Park Department says, “after-hours rentals and typical swim team schedules cannot be accommodated”. Despite this, they will accommodate swim team practices and competitions on “a modified basis”.

The Parks Department is struggling to find staff to help operate the public pools this summer. If you are interested in a summer job with the Parks Department, please click here.
